Show your team spirit to the very end...Literally

Well I didn't think that it was possible to be that "die hard" of a fan, then I came accross a funny yet true story of the casket and urn business trying to grab your last dollar.

I guess since you can't take it with you when you croak, then you might as well show your team spirit. According to the article:

"Many crazed baseball fans have said they would die for a championship. But are they willing to take that devotion to the grave? Major League Baseball and a company that makes funeral products will soon find out just how many fans want to be decked out for all eternity in tribute to their team.

Starting next season, fans of the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers will be able to have their ashes put in an urn or head six feet under in a casket emblazoned with their team colors and insignia.

MLB has entered a licensing agreement with Eternal Image, which hopes to eventually make urns and caskets for all 30 teams. The company also hopes to have similar agreements with Nascar. The MLB has entered a licensing agreement with Eternal Image, which hopes to eventually make urns and caskets for all 30 teams. The company also hopes to have similar agreements with NASCAR, the NHL and the NFL, but baseball was the first to sign on.

So if you're dying to get into one of these beauties then here is the site:

Save BIG on Tutoring Services

My nephew goes to a private school and yet "has to go to Sylvan" to "improve his grades." First of all,in my book, if you're paying for private school, you shouldn't have to pay extra for tutoring. My nephew's parents spend $300/ month for limited sessions...and guess what...after 1 full year, his grades still suck. I can't blame the tutor if the kid is lazy like my nephew...no he's not stupid...he's just too damn lazy...and I've told him and his parents to their face this fact. To my surprise, both of his parents agreed with me.

I suggested going medieval on him and taking away ALL aspects of fun and joy in his life until he decides to shape his lazy ass up...no Playstation, TV, phone, radio, internet or IPod.

I've also told them to ditch Sylvan and go with a site that the YES I SAVED crew found:
Enter TUTOR VISTA tutoring services. For a flat fee of $99 for a month, you get UNLIMITED tutoring. Yes folks, if it were possible to put my nephew in an adult diaper, feed him intravenously, and keep his eyes open like in A Clockwork Orange then they might find results.

Well, they did. After only 2 months with the service and the draconian cuts to fun I recommended, my nephew's grades have jumped a full letter grade across the board and his parents saved $400 cool ones to boot.

You can read an indpendent article about Tutor Vista here:

The Tutor Vista site itself is here.

So whether you have a kid who just needs a little more one on one, or you have one like my nephew who was a total lazy ass until we made life boring hell on Earth and don't want to fork out $25-$100 per hour for tutoring services, give Tutor Vista a try and save some bucks to boot.

Apple MacBook batteries recalled

I've been having spontaneous reboots on my MacBook. I'd be sitting there typing or even sometimes idle and the *boom* my MacBook would just reboot out of nowhere or worse, just go black.

This happened on and off for about three days. I took the MacBook to the retailer I bought it from and they found out that my battery was the culprit...true enough when the took the battery out and ran on just the power plug, there were no problems.

The tech guy told me that my problem was more severe and could have led to permanent hardware failure.

The moral of the story is, even if your MacBook is working fine, get the battery checked out at your local retailer where you bought it or goto Apple's site...they have a list of the batteries on the recall list.

You can either call Apple at 800-275-2273 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., central time, seven days a week or visit the website at this address for the battery recall info.
