Trouble selling your house? Try adding ART...

I came across an interesting article that basically said that homes that were sitting on the sale market for some time begin selling quickly when expesive art is added to "glamorize" a room. The technique is called "staging."

Does it work? According to the article, the answer is a resounding "yes." Angela Di Bello, who runs the Agora Gallery in New York says, "When you walk into a room that has artwork, the space becomes more personalized. It instills a sort of passion, excitement in the mind."

Realtors having been renting expensive artwork, typically at three percent of the artwork's sale value, for a three month period. According to the article, "The works of art rarely surpass 20,000 dollars in value, putting rental prices usually between 50 and 600 dollars for three months."

Staging has been typically used to sell upscale homes but is now finding its way in to lower priced homes with similar success. So, if time is money and your house is wasting time on the market...try renting some art and let the dollars roll in!
